​Primitive Archery

From Kids to Grandparents no child is to young or to old to learn or practice their archery skills.
If it’s your first time, don’t be nervous, we are here to teach you all about one of man kinds oldest tools.
We will teach you about the bow & the arrows themselves, safety, body dynamics, & even the history of archery, as it is the history of man.
Traditional Archery Lessons $35 per hour per student. (Periodically we offer free lessons for kids under 8, dates are posted on
social media.)

Go home with
Your Own Bow

If you or your children are as captured by the Stick & the String as we are, we also offer you an opportunity to learn how a bow is built.
For family groups no larger than 6, children between 8-12 will see how a branch is turned into a quick bow & river canes into arrows. Once their bow is built they will get to shooting their new bow & learning archery safety.
This session starts at $250 for the family, please contact us for individual pricing or for larger groups.

Survival Bow

For all kids older than 14 who would like to learn how to build a bow that could last them a lifetime, we will teach you how to prepare a stave, tiller it, and work it into a functioning bow.
This course is limited to 5 people, all supplies will be provided, this course costs $450 per student.
For a more adult geared class, please contact us for details.

Children between 14-17 can be left unattended with the understanding that any disruption will result in removal from the course & forfeit of payment. Children must be proficient at using hand tools such as knives and axes.
Max group sizes for all activities 10 people per session including parental supervisor required for children under 17.

Adventurers in Training

Juniors

For Kids between 8 & 12 years of age; we ask that a parent or guardian accompany the child.
This course reviews the following topics of outdoor skills;
  • Safe tool handling
  • Knives & lighters
  • Responsibility & dangers of fire building
  • Tying Knots
  • And a short Woods walk where we will identify some common Trees & Edible Plants
This session is $60 per student

Novice

This course is for kids over 12 years old and will cover the following topics;
  • Safe tool handling
  • Tying Knots
  • Basic No Trace Fire
  • How much Food & Water to carry
  • What to wear in the woods
  • EDC kits (Every Day Carry)
This session is $80 per student

Basics

For those with any experience camping it’s easy to take the next steps to make your next outdoor experience a little more than average. Anyone 12 or older is welcome.
  • Tarp Shelters
  • Wet/Cold fires with modern tools
  • Water purification with filters/iodine
  • Three Edible Plants
  • What to carry in your Day Pack
This session is $120 per student
Max group sizes for all activities 10 people per session including parental supervisor, required for children under 17. Courses can run from 1-3 hours.

The Family Quest


This course is for families, with young children, who want to learn together. For parents who are looking for something to get their kids off the couch and outside but don't want to worry about the kids playing in the woods by themselves. Here's your chance for them to learn the skills you want them to have to be safe and sharpen your own skills to help them keep learning as they play.
The course will cover an archery lesson for everyone and either the Junior, Novice or a Basics outdoor skills lesson. The course martial covered will depend on age and experience levels of the children. (See above for course descriptions.)
This exciting package deal starts at $380.

It might be the NEW craze, but it's one of man kinds oldest styles of fun, fighting & hunting, since the stone ages. So come learn something you may have only seen on T.V. but thought you'd never be able to do yourself. Bring a friend and really see who's more Viking.
Sessions are $25 per person
All the above activities are offered at our homestead in Jeffersonville. Some can be offered at Haven for Humanity,
