Camping can feel like a scary activity, or a luxury adventure. It all depends on how much you know. In this workshop our seasoned adventurer and expert woodsman, Joseph, will show you to build a minimalist campsite so those hikes into the Catskills or anywhere in the world can be full of safe adventures.
You don't need to carry 30lbs of gear or be an expert in building debris shelters from nothing. You can take less than 20lbs of gear with you into the woods and safe and sound if you find yourself sleeping overnight under the stars because that sunset was just too good.
In our 2 hour workshop we'll demonstrate properly building a Tarp Shelter; you'll learn how and where to build as well as how to tie the appropriate knots. And you'll build a Single Match No Trace Fire; leaving the land the way you found it. Additionally, we'll go over what to carry in an EDC (EveryDay Carry) kit, things you always need to have with you when out in the world.
Group Size: 2-12 people per class.
